A family-run business

Founded in 1930 by the Carraro family, over the years our business has evolved to meet the ever-growing needs of our valued clients. We started out as a traditional barbershop offering haircuts and nail care for men, and then broadened our services to include women’s hairdressing in response to the demands of women who see hair as an expression of their personal identity. Later, we expanded even further and opened a beauty centre that focuses on face and body treatments.

1930

Until 1920, barbers were allowed to work in private homes and even taverns. Fascist rules introduced the obligation for barbers to work in a dedicated shop. Ampelio Carraro, the village barber, and his brother Giovanni opened their first barbershop near the town hall.

1969

When Ampelio left the town, Giovanni relocated his barbershop across from the church. Giovanni’s older son, Antonio, helped him out while holding another job in town, and eventually started competing in first men’s haircutting competitions. The renovation of the barbershop eventually increased their client base.

1974

The second generation in the Carraro family, Antonio (22 years old) and Romeo (19 years old) closed the town’s barbershop and opened their first mens’ hairdressing salon in Padua.

1978

Maria met Antonio, became interested in the world of aesthetics and decided to attend evening courses to become a qualified aesthetician with flying colours. A booth was set up for her, where she provided manicures, pedicures and facial treatments with UVB lamps.

1991

The salon was eventually relocated to the city centre. Two floors of an old shop were renovated and split into three different areas: a barbershop (run by Antonio), a ladies’ hairdressing salon (run by Romeo) and a beauty centre (run by Maria).

2010

A staircase was built to connect the barbershop downstairs with the upper floor. Following substantial renovation, generous space was turned into a massage salon.
